• 1815 The Congress of Vienna, at which Europe was politically reorganized, ends with the signing of the Congress Act. The Pope, as head of the Papal States, and Spain reject the substantive decisions made therein.
• 1884 The German Emperor William I lays the cornerstone for the Reichstag building in Berlin, which is being built according to the plans of architect Paul Wallot.
• 1912 The Rhine and Main airmail service, one of the first events in the course of which airmail transport took place, begins. It lasts until June 23. For mail items to be transported, they must be provided with so-called airmail labels.
• 1924 1. FC Nürnberg defeats Hamburger SV 2:0 in the final of the German Football Championship for 1923/24.
