• 1881 At the O. K. Corral in Tombstone, the most famous shootout in the history of the Wild West takes place between Virgil, Morgan and Wyatt Earp, as well as Doc Holliday, on the one side and the Clanton/McLaury family on the other side.
• 1927 Gustav Schickedanz founds the mail-order company Quelle in Fürth.
• 1938 Through the “Polish Action” ordered by Heinrich Himmler, 17,000 Polish Jews residing in Germany are driven across the German-Polish border to Poland, including Marcel Reich-Ranicki.
• 1946 At the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, the constitution of the Free State of Bavaria is adopted and signed by the state parliament by a large majority.
